Mariners claim lefty Moll off waivers from Bucs

SEATTLE -- The Mariners added another left-handed reliever to the mix on Thursday, claiming 25-year-old Sam Moll off waivers from the Pirates.

Moll pitched 11 games for Oakland in September,. He was designated for assignment by the A's on Nov. 20, and he was claimed by the Pirates on Monday. He now joins Seattle's 40-man roster, which sits at 37 players.

The only other lefty relief specialists on the Mariners' 40-man roster are James Pazos and Marc Rzepczynski, though Ariel Miranda, Andrew Albers and Marco Gonzales are also bullpen contenders if they don't make the starting rotation.
