Seattle Mariners chairman and CEO Howard Lincoln will announce Wednesday that he is leaving his position, according to 710 ESPN Seattle and The Seattle Times.
Lincoln, 76, was named to his role in September 1999. In February 2000, Lincoln retired from his position as chairman of Nintendo of America to focus on his job with the Mariners. Nintendo of America is the majority owner of the team.
The Seattle Times reported that Mariners minority owner John Stanton will replace Lincoln.
The Mariners have scheduled a news conference for later on Wednesday.
