The winter baseball season for Jesus Sucre has ended in a painful way.
On Sunday, the Mariners confirmed reports coming out of Venezuela that Sucre had suffered a broken leg while playing for Navengantes del Magallanes in the Venezuela Winter League.
Sources within the organization said that Sucre will undergo another examination on Monday to finalize the diagnosis and what needs to happen for a full recovery. The early reports were that Sucre suffered a broken fibula in his shin area. There is no timetable for a return. Though initial reports from Venezuela said six weeks.
