CHOOSE 180 staff and volunteers are on a mission to transform systems of injustice and support the young people who often experience the burdens of these systemic failures.
“We focus on building youth up by identifying their interests and helping them work towards a positive goal,” said Daicia Mestas, CHOOSE 180’s workshop coordinator.
Launched in 2011, the organization works to support youth and young adults, ages 12–24 who are affected by the criminal legal system. Working with government entities, like the King County Prosecutors Office and the Highline School District, CHOOSE 180 replaces punitive approaches with therapeutic, community-centered, and restorative services.
