ANAHEIM, Calif. — The offense that carried the Mariners for the first three games of the series was held in check. Right-hander Nick Vincent, who had pitched well in middle relief of late, gave up the go-ahead home run in the seventh inning, and the Mariners couldn’t quite complete the four-game sweep of the Angels on Sunday in a 4-3 loss.
With two outs in the seventh and the scored tied at 3, Vincent left a pitch up in the zone to Kole Calhoun and his Popeye forearms. Calhoun redirected the pitch over the wall in deep left-center for the decisive hit.
