A year ago, Christian Bergman signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners to provide depth in the organization at the Class AAA level in Tacoma. By the end of the 2017, the veteran right-hander had made eight starts and three relief appearances for the injury-riddled Mariners’ pitching staff while being added and removed from the 40-man roster three different times.
And even with all of that upheaval, Bergman has come back to the Mariners as a free agent for 2018. Sources confirmed that Bergman signed a minor league contract with an invitation to big league spring training.
