Mariners announce title changes, addition to baseball operations staff

The offseason of change continues for the Mariners. New general manager Jerry Dipoto and the organization announced some rumored and reported changes to the baseball operations staff and a pair of additions on Thursday.

Jeff Kingston will remain in the organization as expected after serving as assistant general manager to Jack Zduriencik and interim GM after Zduriencik was fired. His official title will now be vice president and assistant general manager, baseball operations. Kingston was the Mariners’ contract/transaction expert in past years and will hold that duty again as an assistant to Dipoto. He’ll take on the added role of overseeing all of the player development in the organization, including Andy McKay, the club’s new director player development.
