PEORIA, Ariz. — Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a 2022 contract with outfielder Mitch Haniger.
The Mariners have now signed 37 of 39 players currently on the club’s Major League, 40-man, roster.
Haniger, 31, posted career-highs in home runs (39) and RBI (100) during the 2021 season. Overall, the 6-foot-2, 214-pound outfielder hit .253 (157x620) with 110 runs scored, 23 doubles, 2 triples, 39 home runs, 100 RBI, 1 stolen base and 54 walks. He was named American League Player of the Week for the week of July 18th, his first time winning the award.
