Mariners Agree to Terms with Jesus Sucre on 2017 Contract

Seattle Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced today at the 2016 MLB Winter Meetings in National Harbor, Maryland that the club has agreed to terms with catcher Jesus Sucre on a 2017 contract. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Sucre, 28, appeared in 9 games with the Mariners in 2016, batting .480 with 2 doubles, 1 home run and 5 RBI. In 6 games after Sept. 1, he hit .647 (11x17) with 2 doubles and 1 home run.

Sucre was on the 60-day disabled list from March 1 to July 6 after having surgery to repair damage in his right ankle on Jan.
