SEATTLE, Wash. — Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto and Director of Player Development Andy McKay announced today that the team has added former Major League outfielder Mike Cameron to the player development staff as a Special Assignment coach.
Cameron begins his new role with the Seattle organization today with the Arkansas Travelers, the club’s affiliate in the AA Texas League.
In his new role, Cameron will work with Mariners prospects at all levels of the organization, with a focus on outfield defense and base running. In addition to his time in the minors, he will periodically join the Major League club, as well.
