ARLINGTON, Texas — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that LHP Tyler Anderson has reported to the club and been added to the active roster. To make room, RHP Ryan Weber was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma (post-game July 28).
Anderson, 31, will wear #31. He was acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 27 in exchange for minor league catcher Carter Bins and minor league right-handed pitcher Joaquin Tejada.
Anderson has made 18 starts for the Pirates this season, going 5–8 with a 4.
