The Mariners added speed and athleticism to their outfield and their lineup in a four-player deal with Miami on Wednesday. Seattle acquired two-time All-Star and 2015 National League batting champion Dee Gordon from the Marlins in exchange for minor leaguers Robert Dugger, Nick Neidert and Christopher Torres. The Mariners also acquired international slot money from the Marlins.
“Dee provides us with a dynamic presence at the top of our lineup,” Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto said. “He’s a two-time All-Star and former National League batting champion who is electric on the basepaths, having already won three stolen base titles.
