Mariners Acquire INF/OF Jake Bauers from Cleveland

25-year-old has appeared in parts of 3 MLB seasons

DETROIT, Mich. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the Mariners have acquired infielder/outfielder Jake Bauers from Cleveland in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. To make room on the roster, infielder Jack Mayfield has been designated for assignment.

Bauers (#5) will be in uniform and active for today’s game at Detroit.

Seattle’s Major League, 40-man, roster remains at 40 players.

Bauers, 25, appeared in 43 games with Cleveland this season, including 27 starts.
