Mariners Acquire C Blake Hunt from Tampa Bay

SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the Mariners have acquired catcher Blake Hunt from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for minor league catcher Tatem Levins.

Hunt has been selected to Seattle’s Major League, 40-man roster.

Hunt, 24, has appeared in parts of 6 minor league seasons in the San Diego Padres (2017–19) and Tampa Bay Rays (2021–23) organizations. In 399 games, the right-handed hitting catcher is batting .245 (357x1458) with 212 runs, 95 doubles, 8 triples, 36 home runs, 204 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 145 walks.
