In May, Major League Baseball announced that the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics will travel to Japan for the 2019 Season Opening Series at the Tokyo Dome. As a result, the Mariners 2019 spring training schedule will be a three-parter, with games in Arizona, Japan and Seattle.
The Mariners and A’s open next season’s Cactus League with a pair of games. The Mariners travel to Hohokam Stadium in Mesa to open Spring Training on Thursday, February 21, and the Athletics go crosstown to face the Mariners at the Peoria Sports Complex on Friday, February 22.
The Mariners will play 21 games in Arizona, including 12 home games in Peoria, before leaving for Japan.
