SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Dae-Ho Lee, looking to lock up a spot as the Mariners' right-handed platoon first baseman, whacked a two-run double in the sixth inning and Nathan Karns fanned eight in six innings to pace an 8-5 victory over the Rockies in the Cactus League finale on Saturday afternoon at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.
Lee's game-turning hit came during a four-run sixth against Rockies left-hander Chris Rusin, who missed much of the spring with left middle-finger inflammation and will begin the regular season in bullpen while working toward rotation-readiness.
