Sean Gilmartin limited the visiting Tacoma Rainiers to two hits and the Las Vegas 51s earned an 8-1 victory Thursday night in a game called in the fifth inning because of wet grounds at Cashman Field.
Gilmartin (2-1) allowed a run in the fifth when Boog Powell’s ground out scored Mike Baxter, who doubled. Gilmartin had five strikeouts and walked four.
Brandon Nimmo (3 for 3) hit a three-run double and Travis Taijeron hit a two-run double for Las Vegas.
Donn Roach (1-2) took the loss, allowing eight runs, six earned, on 10 hits in 21/3 innings.
