This afternoon, Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis was voted as the BBWAA Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year for the American League, punctuating a busy awards season for the Mariners.
Lewis, who turned 25 on July 13, is one of three Mariners age 25 or younger to take home a major award this offseason, joining J.P. Crawford (25) and Evan White (24) who both received Rawlings Gold Glove Awards on November 3rd.
Lewis is the first Mariners player to win Rookie of the Year since Ichiro won the award in 2001.
