Mariners General Manager Jerry Dipoto added another proven reliever to the club’s bullpen on Wednesday morning. The Mariners signed free-agent right-hander Juan Nicasio to a two-year contract, adding versatility and depth to the club’s relief corps.
“Juan adds a versatile late-game presence to our bullpen,” Dipoto said. “His ability to work multiple innings in high-leverage situations gives our staff tremendous flexibility. Juan fits us really well and we’re excited that he is a Seattle Mariner.”
In 2017, Nicasio went 5–5 with 6 saves and a 2.61 ERA in 76 appearances, which tied with Milwaukee’s Corey Knebel for the National League lead.
