On Tuesday night in Toronto, James Paxton etched his name in the Mariners record books as the left-hander authored the 6th no-hitter in club history. For Paxton, who hails from Ladner, British Columbia, it was even more meaningful to do so on his native soil.
“It’s very special,” Paxton told ROOT SPORTS’ Jen Mueller after the game. “Of all places, to do it in Toronto. That’s pretty amazing.”
Paxton allowed only 3 baserunners — all via walks — while striking out 7 in the no-hitter as the Mariners topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 5–0.
