• The last three no-hitters thrown by American League pitchers have been authored by the Mariners -- Felix Hernandez threw a perfect game in a 1-0 victory over the Rays on Aug. 15, 2012, and six pitchers combined to toss a no-hitter against the Dodgers in a 1-0 win on June 8, 2012.
• Iwakuma and Hernandez's no-hitters bookended the longest streak of no-hitters in Major League history by one league -- and Iwakuma's came nearly three years to the day after Hernandez's.
• In that span, the National League threw 12 no-hitters.
• Iwakuma's no-no marked the first time one team has accounted for three consecutive no-hitters by a respective league since 1960-61, when the Braves were responsible for three straight no-hitters league-wide.
