The Mariners placed right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Sunday) with right shoulder inflammation and selected the contract of right-hander Sam Gaviglio from Triple-A Tacoma, the club announced Wednesday morning.
The Mariners also announced they transferred right-hander Evan Marshall to the 60-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.
Iwakuma is 0-2 with a 4.35 ERA in six starts for Seattle in 2017. The 36-year-old had been scheduled to pitch again on Thursday after having his start pushed back because he took a liner off the knee in his previous outing.
