DENVER, Colo. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that infielder Wyatt Mathisen cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma.
Mathisen, 27, was designated for assignment on July 16. He was acquired by Seattle on June 24 from Tampa Bay in exchange for cash considerations and assigned to Triple-A Tacoma. In 14 games with the Rainiers, he batted .128 (6x47) with 4 runs, 1 home run, 6 RBI and 10 walks.
The right-handed hitting infielder was designated for assignment by Tampa Bay on June 22.
