SEATTLE -- The Mariners placed outfielder Leonys Martin on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Thursday, before Friday's game against the Twins and recalled outfielder Stefen Romero from Triple-A Tacoma.
Romero was in the starting lineup, playing left field and batting eighth for Friday's game.
Martin, 28, left Wednesday's game against Oakland in the bottom on the fourth inning after tweaking his left hamstring on a stolen base in the bottom of the third inning. In 44 games this season, Martin is batting .262 with 22 runs scored, five doubles, nine home runs and 20 RBIs.
