SEATTLE -- Dee Gordon left Friday night's game against the Rockies after getting nailed at home plate.
The Mariners second baseman took off for home plate on a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth inning. Rockies catcher Tony Wolters was able to flip the ball to pitcher German Marquez, who tagged Gordon on his left quad just before Gordon's right foot landed on the plate.
Gordon did not slide or dive on his way into home plate. He also grabbed at his lower back on his walk to the dugout.
