PEORIA, Ariz. — The Mariners fell to the Rangers by a 10–9 score this afternoon at Peoria Stadium.
Both clubs scored a pair of runs in the opening frame, with Seattle’s production coming on an RBI single by Cal Raleigh and a sacrifice fly by Ty France later in the inning.
The Rangers jumped in front in the top of the second inning with a grand slam by Evan Carter to take a 6–2 lead. The slam was Carter’s second home run of the game.
Mitch Haniger trimmed the Rangers lead to 6–3 with a solo blast in the third inning, his second home run of the spring.
