Former Mariners outfielder and broadcaster Dave Henderson passes away at age 57

For those that met him, you didn’t call him Dave or Mr. Henderson, he preferred,”Hendu.” B

And now Dave Henderson is gone at the age of 57.

USA Today reported that Henderson had passed away from cardiac arrest on Sunday morning. After dealing with issues involving his kidneys, he had received a transplant a month earlier.

The Mariners drafted Henderson with the 26th pick of the of the 1977 draft out of Dos Palso High School in California. He would go on to play 14 years in the big leagues with the Mariners, Red Sox, Giants, A’s and Royals, playing in 1,538 games and hitting .
