It was a move Brad Miller believed would happen, just not so early in the offseason. A man without a position in the only organization he had ever known, Miller could see all the reasons why he wouldn’t be with the Mariners much longer — a new general manager, Ketel Marte’s strong finish to 2015 and his own disappointing season that saw him play six different positions after losing the everyday shortstop job.
Now Miller is back at Safeco Field as the everyday shortstop for the Tampa Bay Rays, having been traded Nov. 5 along with Logan Morrison and Danny Farquhar in exchange for pitcher Nathan Karns, outfielder Boog Powell and pitcher C.
