Pete Woodworth was named the Mariners Pitching Coach Thursday. He has spent the last 4 seasons as a pitching coach in the Mariners minor league system, including most recently serving in that role for Double-A Arkansas in 2019.
1.What does it mean to you to be joining the Major League staff?
It’s a dream come true. Four or five years ago when I started with the organization when Andy McKay brought me on, it’s a goal from a player’s perspective and it’s a goal as a coach. To be joining the big league staff with a handful of the players that I’ve had the privilege to watch them develop through the minor leagues makes it even more exciting, a lot of the players that I’ve been around and I’ve built relationships with and I’ve seen mature from the young boys into the men that they are now.
