In case you haven’t noticed, Félix Hernández has been on a bit of a roll. He has his own lofty standards to live up to, but since the start of June, he’s posted a 3.41 ERA—notching 25 strikeouts and just seven walks.
Where’s this coming from?
Jerry Dipoto shed some light on that on Ep. 026 of The Wheelhouse as Aaron Goldsmith asked about Félix’s routine and, particularly, how he’s now throwing between starts.
Here’s Dipoto:
He is throwing in-between his outings, and that’s new. He has not done that, really, for a number of years now.
