Hello and welcome back to FanPost Friday. There’s a fedora-or-other-fancy-hat-sized hole in my heart today as the news was made official yesterday that longtime Mariners announcer Dave Sims is taking his talents to New York City to replace John Sterling at the main play-by-play radio announcer on WFAN. All of us on staff at LL have been big appreciators of Sims’s work with the Mariners. He was a delightful guest on our podcast years ago when Matthew Roberson was the main host and he’s always had a very accessible and friendly online presence to all Mariners fans.
