Hello and welcome back to FanPost Friday. Hey, guess what? The Mariners are still in first place. Are they good, though? Well, last week’s poll was not so optimistic.
Pretty fair given how they played on the last road trip and then nearly getting swept in DC. But then the Mariners returned home and pulled off three magnificently hard-fought victories versus the hated Houston Astros, nearly sweeping the series. We had multiple comebacks, a walk-off sac fly by J.P. Crawford, and absolutely lights out pitching from the pitching staff and especially the bullpen.
