Former Mariners first base coach Andy Van Slyke wasn't a big fan of Robinson Cano's rough first half of the 2015 season.
In an interview with a St. Louis radio station, Van Slyke ripped into the club's second baseman, questioning his effort and saying he was "just the most awful player (he'd) ever seen."
"He couldn't drive home miss Daisy if he tried," Van Slyke told CBS Sports Radio 920. "He couldn't do it. He couldn't get a hit when it mattered. He played some of the worst defense I've ever seen at second base. I'm talking about the worst defensive second basemen I've ever seen in 20 years in the big leagues.
