TACOMA — The El Paso Chihuahuas rallied from two runs down to beat Tacoma, 5-4, and knock the Rainiers out of the Pacific Coast League playoffs Saturday night at Cheney Stadium.
The Chihuahuas won the best-of-five series in five games.
Tacoma built a 4-2 lead as Stefen Romero hit a solo homer and Dan Vogelbach drove in two with a ground out and a single.
But El Paso rallied for a run in the seventh and took the lead in the eighth on Hunter Renfro’s two-run homer off Al Albuquerque.
Chihuahua relievers Buddy Baumann and Phil Maton then closed it out with two scoreless innings.
