WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) —
The rise of the machines is upon us.
Domino's has revealed it is testing an autonomous pizza delivery robot in New Zealand.
The Domino's Robotic Unit (DRU) weighs about 420 pounds and stands about 3 feet tall. It has separate compartments to keep beverages cool and up to 10 pizzas hot. According to Lifehacker Australia, it is capable of delivering within 12 miles of a store on a single charge.
"DRU has a passion for delivering piping hot meals and a nice warm smile to customers," Domino's Australia said in a Facebook post.
