One pitcher was key to helping his team compile one of the greatest clutch resumes in recent memory. The other overpowered opposing hitters like few pitchers ever have before.
The story of the 2018 MLB season couldn't be told without mention of Mariners closer Edwin Diaz and Brewers super-reliever Josh Hader, and the two were justly rewarded for their efforts as the American and National League Relievers of the Year, presented by The Hartford. It's the first such honor for both pitchers; Diaz received the Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year Award, while Hader collected the Trevor Hoffman National League Reliever of the Year Award.
