Mariners broadcaster Dave Sims is one of two finalists for the National Sports Media Association Washington Sportscaster of the Year Award.
The other finalist is Brock Huard, who co-hosts a morning program with Mike Salk on 710 ESPN Seattle, the Mariners flagship radio station.
NSMA members will vote during the month of December and the winner will be announced in mid-January 2018. Award winners will be honored during the 59th Annual NMSA Awards Weekend June 23–25 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The winner will join other Seattle area sports luminaries such as former Sonics play-by-play man Bob Blackburn, who was twice honored; the Voice of the Huskies Bob Rondeau, an 11 time winner; Sonics announcer Kevin Calabro, who received the honor nine times; and our own Dave Niehaus, who received the award in 1995, 1996 and 1999.
