Daniel Vogelbach is forcing his way into the conversation

First base has been a position of intrigue for the entirety of camp. With Ryon Healy going down with a bone spur in his hand, eyes immediately turned to Daniel Vogelbach and Mike Ford. Though Healy is set to return to game action soon, his stand-ins have made strong early impressions—and in the case of Vogelbach, it’s been a overwhelming statement.

Through 13 Cactus League games, the lefty slugger is running a .394/.535/.727 triple-slash line, with nine walks to go with just six strikeouts.

On Ep. 014 of The Wheelhouse, Jerry Dipoto explained that Vogelbach is doing all he can to force the GM’s hand in finding the first baseman a role.
