The most recent promotion of Daniel Vogelbach into the Mariners’ lineup, manager Scott Servais said Saturday, is an attempt to “catch a little lightning in a bottle, so to speak.’’
Vogelbach, though, is hoping this stay in the Majors has a little more permanence than a mere flash.
Vogelbach, who has been with the Mariners three other times this season, was inserted into the starting lineup at first for Saturday night’s game against the White Sox in place of the slumping Ryon Healy. And Servais indicated Vogelbach could continue to get playing time if he produces.
“Fire Vogy in there tonight, see how it goes,’’ Servais said.
