First baseman Dan Vogelbach, hitting .300 for Tacoma, was 3 for 5 with three RBI.
Tacoma (66-46) scored six runs in the eighth inning to take control.
Right fielder Stefen Romero was 4 for 6 with a two-run home run and the middle of the Rainiers’ lineup had a field day. Also having multiple hits for Tacoma were second baseman Tyler Smith (4) and shortstop Mike Freeman (2).
