Cubs add depth, land Jackson from Mariners

CHICAGO -- The Cubs, looking for bench help for their postseason push, have acquired outfielder Austin Jackson from the Mariners for a player to be named later and an international slot worth about $210,000.

A right-handed hitter, Jackson was batting .272 in 107 games with the Mariners and had 15 stolen bases. He does have postseason experience with the Tigers, reaching the World Series in 2012.

The Cubs would have to finalize the deal before 11 p.m. CT Monday for Jackson to be eligible for the postseason and they have to clear a spot on their 40-man roster.
