Cruz, Span combine for back-to-back homers

SEATTLE -- Nelson Cruz and Denard Span smacked back-to-back homers in the fifth inning of Wednesday's game against the Orioles at Safeco Field, as the Mariners reclaimed the lead they lost in the top of the frame.

Cruz squared up a 1-2 fastball that Orioles starter Andrew Cashner left up in the zone, sending the ball out of the ballpark at 105.7 mph, per Statcast™, to tie the game at 2. Cruz ranks third in the Majors with an average exit velocity of 94.1 mph -- Aaron Judge is the leader and Giancarlo Stanton is second.
