PHILADELPHIA (Sinclair Broadcast Group) —
Riding as passengers in a yellow Volkswagen Beetle, dummy versions of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton present a unified message.
"Register to Vote," a sign along the side of the car reads.
Wednesday afternoon, the car sat parked on a street by the National Constitution Center as Phil and Betty McGarrigan prepared for a day of greeting passersby who stopped to take photos with the faux political candidates.
“The political dummies,” as the McGarrigans call them, were an idea that began in 1999.
While they’re from the Pennsylvania, the McGarrigans travel all over the United States, bringing the dummies along with them on vacations, to conventions and political events across the country.
