WASHINGTON (WJLA) — First responders rushed to a construction site in Boston on Thursday to rescue a worker who reportedly got caught in a cement mixer.
The 22-year-old worker slipped, and was not relieved from the mixer for two hours.
Investigators say it was one of the strangest technical rescues that they've ever come across.
The man was given oxygen and an IV while firefighters carefully cut his foot out of the cement by hand.
"We were surprised how he could've gotten in there," a firefighter said.
Officials say no power tools could be used to rescue him because the operation was so delicate.
