RENO, Nev. — Tacoma pitcher Cody Martin earned his 10th victory of the season as the Rainiers posted a 4-3 triumph Sunday over Reno to move 3½ games ahead of the Aces in the PCL’s Pacific North race.
Martin, who has been a spot starter for the Mariners, allowed just three hits in 51/3 innings and struck seven with three walks. He allowed the Aces (73-63) one earned run.
Mike Freeman had a double and a single for the Rainiers (76-59) and Daniel Robertson had two hits.

Despite three hits each from Nick Zammarelli and Eric Filia, the AquaSox fell at home.
