If you’re going to hit four home runs in a game, it helps to hit two in the 1st inning. That’s exactly what Mike Cameron did on May 2, 2002 at the White Sox, his former club.
Cameron went yard twice in the 1st inning, once in the 3rd and once in the 5th to become the 13th player in Major League history to hit four home runs in a game, the first Mariner and the first Big Leaguer since the Cardinals Mark Whiten on September 7, 1993 at the Reds.
He became only the 5th player ever to homer in four consecutive at-bats.
