Classic Mariners Games: Kyle Lewis Homers in Major League Debut

Just over three years removed from being the 11th overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, Kyle Lewis made his Major League debut on September 10, 2019 against Cincinnati at T-Mobile Park — and did so in unforgettable fashion. He hit 6th in the order and started in right field in that night’s game vs. the Reds.

Lewis homered off Trevor Bauer in the bottom of the 5th inning for his first Major League hit.

He became the 5th player in Mariners history to hit a home run in his Major League Debut, joining Kenji Johjima (2006), Greg Dobbs (2004), Alvin Davis (1984) and Jamie Nelson (1983).
