The Chicago Cubs continued their makeover of the bullpen on Monday, acquiring right-hander Joe Smith from the Los Angeles Angels, sources told ESPN's Buster Olney.
Smith is 1-4 with a 3.82 ERA and 6 saves in 38 relief appearances. In 70 appearances last season, the 32-year-old posted a 3.58 ERA. He had 15 saves in 2014.
The Cubs made one of the biggest splashes of the deadline, acquiring closer Aroldis Chapman from the Yankees.
