Cano home run not enough in loss to Sox

Mariners starter Wade Miley was charged with three runs. He allowed six hits, two of which were solo homers, over 6 1/3 innings as he lost his fifth consecutive game. The Mariners bullpen didn't do much to stop Chicago's roll. Tom Wilhelmsen replaced Miley and let one of his two inherited runners score. Edwin Diaz had three strikeouts in a scoreless eighth, but then Joaquin Benoit gave up the two-run home run to Frazier in the ninth to widen the Mariners deficit to 5-1.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED

Chisox break out: The six runs scored by Chicago were the most in a victory since an 8-2 win over the Yankees on July 4.
