PEORIA, Ariz. -- An MRI on Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano on Monday revealed a Grade 1 strain of his left hamstring, and it will keep him out of action for the next five to seven days.
On Sunday, Cano was removed from the Mariners' 6-5 Cactus League loss to the Reds in the top of the second inning due to tightness in the hamstring after chasing a popup. He was slowed for a few days by a left hamstring issue last season and said Sunday's injury was caused by the scar tissue.
"I've been working, but they said it was scar tissue and that's something you can't control," Cano, 35, said.
